Here’s a Gretsch-built archtop based on the famous Synchromatic 100 - right down to the script inlay on the headstock. These were offered through Sears in the 1940s, and they’re surprisingly ornamented and high quality for the price. Featuring an interesting asymmetrical neck carve with a thick profile, MOT inlay on the fingerboard, original finish, bridge, pickguard, and tuners, this thing looks the part. It’s had a few cracks repaired here and there, some cracks in the binding on the neck, but the setup is great and it sounds like a million bucks.
